Global Distribution Solutions (GDS Ltd.), a team of experienced and dedicated marine industry sales, distribution and channel management professionals, announced that it has been appointed the exclusive United Kingdom distributor and global sales agent for Barnacle Systems’ BRNKL (pronounced ‘barnacle’) security and monitoring products.

“We are very excited to assist Barnacle Systems expand its award-winning product line into new markets,” said Jim Deheer, director, GDS Ltd. Barnacle Systems uses cutting-edge technology in its BRNKL security and monitoring devices. In coordination with a number of proprietary and third-party sensors – like the Samsung smart home SmartThings suite of products – this technology sets them apart.

Offering security, monitoring and global connectivity through cellular hardware and mobile apps, BRNKL lets users capture camera images from their boat. It is capable of monitoring up to four battery banks, shore power, bilge activity and a host of external sensors. Internal sensors include temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, pitch, heel and impact. Working with the growing catalogue of Samsung’s SmartThings sensors like motion detectors, window and door sensors, BRNKL benefits from high-quality, low-cost sensors to create a powerful, yet affordable, fully integrated smart boat. The system operates globally on a global cellular network and can be installed by owners or experienced electronics installers.

“We’re looking forward to partnering with GDS Ltd. to offer our products in the United Kingdom and throughout the world,” said Brandon Wright, CEO, Barnacle Systems. “Their dedication and network of partners are the perfect fit for our business model.”
