JACK PADY REFLECTS ON THE BOATING INDUSTRY OVER 40 YEARS

Jack Pady Marine is celebrating 40 years in the yacht sales and brokerage business this year and has offered these reflections on the changes in the industry, as well as a look to the future.

“40 Years has seen a number of changes in our Boating Industry. In the 70’s and 80’s, we had a strong power and sail boat manufacturing industry in Canada. Then along came 1990 and “Free Trade”. Almost all Canadian Boat Manufacturing ceased and new boats now come mainly from the USA.

During the same period, we saw an increase in Marinas and Dockage on Georgian Bay as boaters from other areas in Ontario came north to enjoy “The Bay” with their “Cottage on The Water”.”

“Looking ahead, New Boat Sales will come back with a stronger Canadian Dollar. New boats will continue to give us New Technology and with more research we will see better Fuel Efficiency.

Our mandate is to promote the wonderful lifestyle that boating can bring to a family, especially here on Georgian Bay. We have 40 years of experience to rely on.”
