Philippe Briand comes to Annapolis

We are excited to announce that Philippe Briand, internationally renowned  naval architect, will be joining us at this year’s Annapolis show for the formal North American debut of the Jeanneau 64 that he co-designed with Andrew Winch.

Philippe Briand was born into a sailing family. His father was an Olympic sailor and Philippe was 9 when he started racing dinghies in LaRochelle, France. He designed his first sailboat at 16, he was sailing on his own designs by the age of 22, and he grew into a skilled and talented helmsman who won several World Championships.

Located just opposite Italy along the western shore of the Adriatic Sea, surrounded by such countries as Bosnia, Serbia and Slovenia, sits Croatia; a country steeped in a rich history with long mountainous coastlines, sapphire waters, ancient cities and dotted with more than a thousand islands. Duncan Peacock, resident of Kitimat BC and member of Kitimat Marine Search and Rescue and RCMSAR Unit 63, has been awarded the 12th annual Tim Jones Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Outdoor Community in British Columbia.

Peacock has been a member of Kitimat Marine Search and Rescue and RCMSAR Unit 63 for 31 years, making him one of the longest-serving members in the province.

Initially created in partnership with the UK Sea Cadets to replace their aging fleet, designer Jo Richards and the RS Sailing development team wanted to make sure the RS Quest was built to break the mould.
