Feb 4, 2016

MD Marine Insurance is pleased to announce the acquisition of the MGL Boat Insurance book. According to MD Marine Executive Vice President Sylvain Tisi ‘We have been considering our options for expanding the MD Marine brand into Quebec for some time and the MGL acquisition fits perfectly into our plans. Not only does this give us an opportunity to expand the MD Marine brand locally we will now also be able to service Quebec clients who choose to buy their new boats from Ontario dealers.’

The purchase puts MD Marine Insurance immediately into a leading market share position against competitive marine brokers. The MGL book has a perfect cross section of all styles and sizes of boats from fishing to pontoons, PWC, runabouts and mid to large size cruisers.

As part of the deal Mario Larosee, who created the MGL model and business becomes a part of the MD Marine Sales Team. This is a terrific opportunity for Mario to join a team that is focused purely on servicing the needs of recreational boaters.
