MD MARINE’S FRANCOIS TISI WILL BE MISSED

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of François Tisi surrounded by his loving family, at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Tuesday March 31, 2015; at the age of 66. François was the beloved husband of Jocelyne (nee: Landry). Loving father of Sylvain Tisi of Barrie, Danielle Tisi and husband Mike Holenski of Orillia. Cherished and very proud grandpa of Jordyn, Peyton and Bryce Tisi, Nicolas, Austin and Jasper Holenski. Dear brother of Lorraine Tisi Forand and partner Gary Hurst of Ridgeway, Rolande Guillemette and husband Marcel of Welland. What brought François the most joy was spending time with his family and friends.

François was a beloved member of every community and organization that he touched. He was the current President of McLean & Dickey Insurance Brokers, MD Marine Insurance and Nautimax (2006-present); past Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (1985 – 2005); member of the Kiwanis Club of Orillia; recipient of the Skip Watson Award (2009); recipient of the Mérite Franco-Ontarien Award (2006); recipient of Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal ( 2003), recipient of the Fellowship Award of the Ontario Teachers’ Federation (1991); and a Chartered Director with the Director’s College.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia, on Monday from 2-4pm & 7-9pm with Parish Prayers said at 6:45pm. Funeral service will be held at the Church of the Guardian Angels, 115 West St. N., Orillia, for Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday morning, April 7th, at 10:00am. Cremation to follow.
