NMEA’S 2015 CONFERENCE AND EXPO TO BE HELD IN BALTIMORE

NMEA 2015 Expo

Focus will be on training and Technology Development

The National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) has announced that the 2015 NMEA International Marine Electronics Conference & Expo will be held September 29–October 1 in Baltimore, at the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel. The NMEA Conference and Expo is the largest event in North America serving the marine electronics trade.

“Our 2015 NMEA Conference and Expo will focus on training, new product introductions, and technology developments in marine electronics,” said Johnny Lindstrom, Chairman of the NMEA’s board of directors. “This event also provides dealers and manufacturers nationwide with the best face-to-face contact and discussions of the year.

“We are also very pleased to move the event to Baltimore, which provides convenient air access nationally and a central location for everyone on the East and Gulf Coasts, from Maine through Texas,” Lindstrom said.

Based on excellent feedback from 2014 conference attendees, the NMEA Conference and Expo has been completely reorganized to provide more technical education and business opportunities for attending dealers, installers, and participating manufacturers, said Mark Reedenauer, NMEA President and Executive Director. “We have changed everything about the conference to make certain that dealers and technical personnel find it a rewarding training and educational experience that they must not miss,” he said. “The industry has responded the past three years with record attendance and record participation in the beefed-up training classes. For 2015, we will focus on five new technical electronics classes and five new business-oriented classes.

Among new offerings at this year’s event will be updated MEI, NMEA 2000®, and AMEI trainings based on the new, revised 0400 Installation Standard, which provides the information and requirements for reliable, safe installations for all kinds of marine electronics, Reedenauer said.

The 2015 NMEA International Marine Electronics Conference & Expo is expected to attract more than 500 dealers, technicians, distributors, manufacturers, and others who design, build, install, and service marine electronics for the nation’s fleets of recreational and commercial vessels. International attendees will come from Canada, Europe, and Asia. The conference and expo will showcase the best in marine electronics in a 10,000-square-foot exhibit area. Many manufacturers will use the event to unveil their new products for the coming year.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
