The National Marine Representatives Association (NMRA) added 30 new members in 2017. This record growth reflects increased awareness by manufacturers of the benefits of using independent sales reps, as well as the overall rebound of the marine industry.

“We’re pleased to welcome this diverse group of new members,” said Neal Trombley, NMRA president. NMRA member independent marine reps have strong industry connections with OEMs, distributors, retail outlets, boatyards and marinas. They work on a commission basis, eliminating the additional overhead of an employee and are equally as effective for small startups as they are large, century-old companies. This is why component and accessory manufacturers and service providers join NMRA as affiliate members, to make valuable connections that will help them bring their products to market and increase sales.

Founded in 1960, the NMRA serves independent marine sales representatives and the manufacturers who sell through reps. It functions as an industry voice, networking tool and information source. Active in the marine industry, it annually awards one or more scholarships to students pursuing education in the maritime trades.
