PANGAEA SURVIVAL SUIT: 2014 JAMES DYSON AWARD CANADIAN ENTRY

Pangaea

Developed by a young industrial design student from Humber College, the PANGAEA is the only all-in-one survival suit system for professional competitive yachters, providing flexibility of use and increased chance of survival, when faced with extreme distress situations.

PANGAEA is unique in providing not only warmth and flotation, but immediate access to emergency equipment (worn on the body) and a personal life raft that will automatically launch and inflate when the user is in the water.
The system allows the wearer to adapt to changing weather and sea conditions. Equipment that is not being worn is stored on the wall mounted attachment unit on the yacht.

The James Dyson Award is an annual program by the James Dyson Foundation that invites the world’s brightest young engineers to enter the James Dyson Award, where students are challenged to design something that solves a problem.
