RICK PITINO TO DELIVER KEYNOTE ADDRESS AT IBEX INDUSTRY BREAKFAST

Rick Pitino

The International Boatbuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) announces that Rick Pitino, celebrated basketball coach of the Louisville Cardinals, will deliver the keynote address at the IBEX Industry Breakfast, to be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, from 7:30 to 9:30 am. Pitino has been head coach of the University of Louisville’s Cardinals since 2001, guiding them to victory in the 2013 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship. He has also served as head coach to Boston University, Providence College, and the University of Kentucky, and he has served two stints in the NBA, coaching the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics.

Pitino began coaching in 1975, and has led many teams to big wins over his long career. Pitino is the only NCAA coach to have led three different teams to the Final Four, and he is the only NCAA coach to bring two of those teams to the NCAA Basketball Championship. Pitino is also a frequent motivational speaker, and the author of several books, including “Success is a Choice” and “Lead to Succeed.”

“Rick Pitino’s energy and inspiring leadership is a great way to kick off IBEX,” says Anne Dunbar, IBEX Show Director. “We are confident everyone will enjoy his talk and take away some positive reflections they can apply to their own businesses.”

Prior to Pitino’s remarks, Thom Dammrich, president of NMMA, will deliver an opening address about the state of the marine industry. “We will begin the breakfast with a review of the current issues and successes we have in the industry,” explains Dammrich. “I look forward to sharing insights on the trends and opportunities we’re seeing across the industry at this year’s conference.”

The winners of the IBEX Innovations Awards, presented by Boating Writers International, will also be announced at the Industry Breakfast. Conferred in 13 categories, this prestigious award recognizes technological innovation in the marine industry. Categories include Safety Equipment, Boat Building Methods and Materials, Inboard Engines, and Boatyard and Dealer Hardware and Software, among others.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
