Riverpark acquires Prospec Electronics

Riverpark Acquires Prospec

June 19, 2023

ProSpec Electronics, a leading manufacturer and supplier of high-performance outdoor OEM and aftermarket audio solutions, has been acquired by electronics distributor RiverPark Inc. Dave Sykes, ProSpec president, and Steve Bollero, RiverPark president, made the shared announcement.

For 10 years, ProSpec and RiverPark have enjoyed a business relationship that spurs product innovation. In addition to expanding the sales and distribution footprint focused on OEM markets, the acquisition offers many unique opportunities for both companies in new segments while strengthening leading positions in their respective core markets.

ProSpec is now RiverPark Marine dba ProSpec Electronics; its operations and personnel remain in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Its efforts will be supported by the sales, distribution and product development team from RiverPark’s Elkhart, Indiana headquarters.

“We’re excited to formally solidify our relationship with RiverPark,” said Sykes. “Our companies share similar cultures and values, and I’m confident that this move will benefit our customers tremendously.” Bollero echoed the synergies, saying, “RiverPark and ProSpec each have excellent customer service reputations in their OEM markets, and our complementary business strengths will offer an expanded opportunity for sales and distribution of Infinity, JBL and Harman Kardon marine electronics to boat manufacturers nationally.”

Elkhart, Indiana-based RiverPark Inc. was founded in 1981 as a national RV distributor of mobile audio products. It now offers a full line of electronics and appliances in diverse OEM markets such as marine, RV, commercial trucks and specialty vehicles. Key partnerships with major consumer electronics companies have enabled development of unique OEM-specific products. RiverPark distributes premium brands that include Bose, Harman/JBL, Mobileye, Samsung, Sony and Xite Solutions. Its website is www.riverparkinc.com.

ProSpec Electronics shapes how consumers listen to music outdoors by developing and introducing market-shifting audio products. With its reputation firmly established in 1986 as bringing the first true marine stereo system to market, it now offers a range of receivers, amplifiers, speakers, subwoofers, and stereo packages for boats, UTVs, golf cars and pool/spa applications. Brands it offers include Harman Kardon, JBL, Infinity and MPro as well as those from RiverPark’s extensive portfolio.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
