UNCONVENTIONAL PARTNERSHIP YIELDS TOP HONOURS AT NORTH AMERICA’S LARGEST SAILBOAT SHOW

Beneteau and Maine Cottage

The newly formed alliance between Beneteau America, a world leader in the manufacturing of high quality production sailing and powerboats from 21 to 59 feet, and Maine Cottage®, a coastal cottage furniture company known for its distinctive style, handmade craftsmanship and spirited fabrics reminiscent of seaside living, earned them “Best Display” at the U.S. Sailboat Show in Annapolis, MD today.

Beneteau’s exhibit at North America’s preeminent sailboat show was adorned with furnishings by Maine Cottage® and showcased the companies’ partnership.

“This is an exciting beginning to a collaboration we believe our owners and future owners will embrace for a long time to come,” says Beneteau America Marketing Director, Maryline O’Shea.

“The partnership unites two companies, with two unseemingly related product lines, who share a genuine appreciation for enduring quality products to enhance life on the water. Our companies are coastal lifestyle brands that share in a commitment to support American manufacturing. It makes wonderful sense that these two companies, headquartered in the sailing capital of the world, would team up to present magnificent vessels with interiors to compliment the exquisite exterior design,” says President and CEO of Maine Cottage®, Larry Strassner.

Beneteau America President, Laurent Fabre explains, “Beneteau owners value style and artisan craftsmanship. By establishing a partnership with Maine Cottage®, we can offer our customers a range of choices related to accent furnishings, fabrics and more that allow them to express their interior design sensibilities on their Beneteau sail or powerboat. Moreover, we believe establishing strategic alliances with like-minded companies will lead to opportunities that otherwise would have remained undiscovered.”

Beneteau is known worldwide for its sleek design, quality construction and innovation in the manufacturing of seaworthy sailing and power yachts. The Beneteau story began nearly 130 years ago when Benjamin Bénéteau started building fishing trawlers in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, France. Today, the company continues to thrive under the leadership of Benjamin Bénéteau’s granddaughter, Madame Annette Bénéteau-Roux. Beneteau has manufacturing facilities in France, Brazil and the United States.

Maine Cottage® furniture is handcrafted by experienced woodworkers and built to order. Only the highest quality materials are used, selected based on durability and sustainability. The building techniques embraced by Maine Cottage® ensures its furniture will stay true for generations.
