Volvo Penta of the Americas today announced the appointment of Atlantic Detroit Diesel Allison (ADDA) as a new Authorized Power Center for the marine industry. ADDA is a division of Stewart & Stevenson, a Kirby Corporation.

The organization will be responsible for sales and service of Volvo Penta marine diesel and gasoline propulsion systems in New York and northern New Jersey. ADDA will support Volvo Penta’s dealers and customers in the region with rapid-response centers located in Lodi, Piscataway and Latham. The company will also serve as a resource for parts, service, warranty and training for Volvo Penta’s dealer network across the territory.

“The appointment of ADDA as a Volvo Penta Power Center is a part of our long-term strategy to expand and upgrade our marine service network nationwide,” said Jens Bering, vice president of marine sales for Volvo Penta of the Americas. “This is a very important region with an extraordinary concentration of commercial and recreational marine activity, including New York harbor and Long Island Sound. ADDA has an unmatched reputation for after-sales service support expertise in the region with over 38 years of experience.”

“This partnership is a natural fit for us. The Volvo Penta name is synonymous with quality and dependability, and these are the same attributes we are committed to when it comes to our customers,” said Don Mann, president of ADDA. “We look forward to working closely with Volvo Penta’s outstanding service team to support OEM builders, dealers and customers in this vital region.”

With the addition of ADDA, Volvo Penta now has a total of 12 marine Power Centers across North America, ensuring standardized service with prompt response times for service and parts availability throughout the continent.
