• Learn what equipment they need to avoid big fines

Safety First Marine is a new free online resource that will help marine retailers like you bring your customers safely back to shore and back to your store.

Safety First Marine is a complete educational package and resource for marine retail sales people in Canada, who deal with hundreds of thousands of boaters annually. It is an innovative, interactive, bilingual web-based educational program, designed to help marine retail sales staff, confidently share information with their customers and help make Canada’s waterways safer for all.

Safety First Marine is made up of 19 video based educational modules to help a marine retail sales person ensure their boating customers are complying with Transport Canada’s carriage requirements and to keep their boating customers better informed, better equipped and better able to deal with on water emergencies. Each module includes a self-assessment at the end of the video.

Participants register for free and once registered can learn at their own pace through a self-directed, interactive leaning approach.

Upon successful completion of all modules, participants receive a personalized certificate acknowledging they have successfully completed the program and are now a Marine Safety Specialist. The participating marine retail sales people will be more prepared, competent and confident to provide accurate advice to their customers about marine safety equipment.

It’s an enjoyable self-study course and a handy app as well. Have marine retail tips in your hand! Download the Safety First Marine App and have the answers you need for your customers.

Before the season gets rolling, get all of your staff ready to deliver the boating safety knowledge your customers expect you to have, and build your retail success at the same time.
