York Regional Police York Regional Police held a public meeting at the Ramada Jackson’s Point Resort on June 25, 2018 discussing the construction of their new marine facility. The police Marine Unit will be moving from Krate’s Marina where they have been located for several years, to Jackson’s Point when the new facilities are completed. The new Jackson’s Point location will reduce the travel time for police and rescue operations when responding to calls from across Lake Simcoe to the Trent Severn Waterway and as far as Barrie and the Narrows. The three larger police vessels will be stored in the water in a new boathouse while other smaller boats, ATV’s and snowmobiles on trailers will be stored outdoors at the same location. This includes their air boat used for winter rescues when ice conditions are uncertain.
