Boating Ontario ConferenceBoating Ontario has launched registration for their annual conference, which is being held November 25th-27th, 2019 at the Sheraton on the Falls in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

The Boating Ontario Annual Conference is constantly evolving to ensure it encompasses all aspects of our ever-changing industry. Below are just some of the awesome things you can expect this year!

What Can You Expect?

1) Networking and Knowledge - you asked, now we're prepared to deliver!

We've packed our agenda full of opportunities to network with other industry members and peers while also getting the low-down on all sides

2) NEW  BOATS - Boating Ontario Annual Trade Show - the inaugural event!

2019 will see the first-ever BOATS (Boating Ontario Annual Trade Show) event! BOATS kicks off the conference Monday evening along with the Welcome Reception. Enjoy live music, food, and drinks while you network with trade partners and fellow delegates. This year, the Trade Show will be bigger - 10' x 10' booths bigger - and better than ever. Another first is the presence of booths in the main presentation room (Great Room) throughout the ENTIRE conference!

3) NEW  Conference Mobile App - keeping you app-to-date!

We're excited to be bringing you a mobile app to keep you connected to all things conference! Really looking forward to a certain presentation (or all of them)?! Bookmark the item in the Agenda section, and it'll create a reminder so that you don't miss out! Speaker finished early?! You'll get a notification for what's next, so you're not wondering where you're supposed to be! You can also read Speaker profiles, resolve your queries in the FAQ section, check out the BOATS participants, and so much more! We'll be sending out the info for how to get your hands on the app in November, so stay tuned!

4) NEW  Spousal Program - eat, drink, and be married!

Boating Ontario is excited to be launching a Spousal Program at this year's conference! Participating spouses will receive entry into the Welcome Reception & BOATS event on Monday evening before being whisked away Tuesday morning for a fun-filled day in the Niagara region. The group will visit two wineries and a brewery and stop for a pay-your-own-way lunch in Niagara-on-the-Lake, before attending the Presidents' Reception, Dinner, & Awards! Wednesday is a spousal relaxation day - do whatever your heart desires!

5) NEW  The Sip Trip - enjoy Niagara!

We get it - Niagara Falls is a heck of a hike for some to travel for two days of conference.. which is why we've partnered with several wineries and breweries in the surrounding areas to bring you yet ANOTHER reason to come out to your annual conference: free samples of Niagara nectar! Make a mini-vacation out of it - especially now that your spouse is going, too - and take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to sample numerous wines/beer courtesy of participating partners! We'll be hooking you up with multiple different ways to enjoy Niagara!

 6) NEW  First-Timers Reception - there's a first for everything!

Killer shrimps, sea squirts and the spiny water flea are all examples of invasive alien species that have been introduced to new areas in various parts of the world by recreational craft such as boats, yachts and other small craft. 

Invasive alien species are known to be one of the biggest drivers of biodiversity loss, and their management especially in marine environments is incredibly challenging. Therefore, the most cost effective away of addressing their impacts is to prevent their spread to new areas.

“Recreational boating and fishing are enjoying increasing popularity with younger and more diverse consumers,” said Matt Atilano, Veer Director of Strategy. “We identified a gap in the marketplace and a need to create a more targeted and modern experience for these new boaters, which inspired the design and development of the Veer brand.”

C-Tow Marine Assistance appoints Jill Noel to Manager of Operations

C-Tow Marine Assistance Ltd., which has been serving and assisting recreational boaters across Canadian waterways for more than 35 years, has announced the appointment of Jill Noel to Manager of Operations, effective January 2, 2023. 

In her new role, with an overall goal of building the C-Tow brand across Ontario and throughout Canada, Jill will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations including digital marketing and social media initiatives, company representation at national and local industry events, managing the C-Tow captains, and liaising with marinas, yacht clubs, and marine associations.
