Hosted by the Portuguese Association of Ports and Marinas (APPR), the next edition of the prestigious ICOMIA World Marinas Conference will take place on the 9-11 October 2023 in Vilamoura Marina at the heart of the Algarve in Portugal. The conference preparation is well underway, aiming to make this the biggest World Marinas Conference to date. The event will bring together marina professionals across the globe at the Tivoli Vilamoura conference centre, a venue with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and Marina de Vilamoura.

Under the theme of “Big Challenges Big Decisions”, the conference will provide three days of insightful programme addressing some of the biggest challenges the industry is facing today such as alternative energy, climate change, economic and political stability, operations and what actions need to be taken.

Bill Yeargin, CEO of Correct Craft, will be delivering the keynote speech on Day 1. The second day of the conference will include a visit to three of the best marinas in the Portuguese vibrant nautical market: Vilamoura, Albufeira and Lagos. Following that, attendees will be welcomed to the Gala Dinner which will showcase the local cuisine and culture as well as host the Golden Cleat Award Ceremony which was first introduced during the ICOMIA World Marinas Conference in Dubai and proved a huge success.

Isolete Correia, President, APPR said:

“It is with great enthusiasm that we are hosting the ICOMIA World Marinas Conference. Preparations for this great event are at full speed and we are very excited and looking forward to presenting all participants with a warm Portuguese welcome. The Conference will showcase market insights and provide excellent opportunities for networking with marina professionals from all over the world. “

Udo Kleinitz, Secretary General, ICOMIA said:

“I am very excited about the next edition of the ICOMIA World Marinas Conference taking place in the Algarve. Portugal has a well-established marina and boating infrastructure and a lot to offer in terms of knowledge and expertise. The beautiful scenery in which WMC 2023 is set to be held will also add to the attractiveness of the event. The theme of the conference reflects very well some of the main challenges the industry is facing today and will provide a great forum for discussions and actionable takeaways.”
