ABYC 2020 STANDARDS WEEK RECAP

ABYC

Jan 28, 2020

In early January in New Orleans, ABYC hosted Standards Week, the ABYC Annual Meeting, and the Marine Law Symposium. Standards Week is a critical time in the standards development process and this year over 150 experts from all sectors of the industry gathered to give their input on topics such as seats, lithium-ion battery systems, protection of engine controls, and fuel system testing. ABYC sends a THANK YOU to all who volunteer and participate in Project Technical Committees (PTCs) with the goal of making boating safer. If you are interested in getting involved click here

During ABYC’s annual meeting, new members to ABYC’s board of directors were announced including Gary DeSanctis from AIM Marine Group, Eric Fetchko from Dometic Marine Americas, Phil Cappel from the United States Coast Guard (retired), and Matt Majors from the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA). An awards presentation also took place to recognize ABYC members who have provided exceptional service to the marine industry.

ABYC Service Award – Awarded to Bob Tate
