BOATING INDUSTRY CANADA INTERVIEWS MERCURY MARINE PRESIDENT JOHN PFEIFER

Andy Adams interviews John Pfeiffer of Mercury Marine

Sept 25, 2018

At the end of August, Boating Industry Canada traveled to a special media event in New York City where we had an opportunity to interview John Pfeifer, president of Mercury Marine.

While the focus of the event was on the new V-6 and V8 Mercury outboard engines as well as their recent acquisition of Power Products and the launch of the Nautic-On modular onboard communication and sensor systems and the Nautic-On app, we know that Canadian boatbuilders and dealers have found that demand has been so strong this past summer, they have been waiting longer than expected for parts and new engines.

We’ve also written in News Week about the strength of the American market and the importance of getting our new product orders in now for the boat show season, but we also acknowledge that the new rounds of tariffs and trade barriers have made this very complicated.

John Pfeifer was kind enough to explain the situation from Mercury’s perspective, in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1ksM8hp1vc
