boot 2023

Oct 3, 2023

boot Düsseldorf 2024 is heading for a top result. The international market leaders will again be participating at the world’s largest yachts and water sports show and boot will continue its excellent pre-pandemic results. Commenting on this, Wolfram Diener, President & CEO of Messe Düsseldorf, said: “We have had very successful talks with the manufacturers over the summer months and feel great enthusiasm and anticipation for boot 2024. In January, we will also be able to welcome back brands that took a break this year. In particular, we see very high international attendance from exhibitors. This means boot 2024 will reach the highest level, present wide and varied ranges for both water sports and destinations and will again position itself as the world-leading show for this industry.”

In 16 exhibition halls there will be an abundance of motorboats with classic and alternative drives, luxury yachts from leading manufacturers, sailing yachts – from dinghies to large yachts, diving accessories, canoes and kayaks, boards, houseboats and, at the Destination Seaside, wide range of dream vacation spots at the water.

Diving in Hall 12
In addition to boats and yachts, diving is a main part of boot and will be located in parts of Hall 11 and 13 and in Hall 12. “Here sport divers find everything their hearts desire and here everyone with a name in the industry will be featured. Instructors inform visitors on how to get started in the underwater sport and advise them on the purchase of matching equipment or suitable diving destinations. Subsequently, orders can be placed directly with manufacturers, dealers and tour operators at the show,” said Christian Hruschka, responsible for diving, technical equipment and tourism in the boot 2024 team. Those who want to try out the open water before their first dive can dive into the beginners’ pool. Experienced divers with a license can use the futurist diving tower which was recently inaugurated at boot 2023. Petros Michelidakis, Director of boot, stated: “The diving community are loyal boot fans and we have created a real paradise for them. To make this topic even more mainstream in the public, boot has created the Dive Award presented in the categories “Personality”, “Climate”, “Product”, “Destination” and “Innovation” starting this year. It comes with EUR 3,000 prize money in each category and is presented on the stage of the Dive Center at boot in Düsseldorf every year.”

Fun with hands-on activities – enjoying maritime art
Complementing the exhibitors’ ranges, the stages and hands-on activities as well as maritime art will delight boot fans. Stars of the diving scene will present exciting film sequences of their adventures in the Dive Center and will be available as experts on stage. At the Sailing Center international sailing superstars will report on their sailing trips and participation in regattas. Lara Hannappel, stage coordinator on the boot team, is delighted: “On the Destination Seaside stage, for example, the tour operators will whisk away visitors to dreamlike holiday regions and demonstrate a wide variety of holiday formats by the water in the most dazzling colors.” For all those who would like to get on or into the water themselves at boot, the Actionpool, diving tower with free-dive training, Sailing School and the World of Paddling will offer exciting hands-on activities. “With so much action, water sports enthusiasts also need a little rest and enjoyment. Hall 7 will host artists and galleries with maritime art, inviting attendees to a maritime vernissage,” commented Svenja Zimmermann, responsible for Galeria boot in the boot team.

blue innovation dock – the sustainability forum in Hall 10 – ocean tribute Award and love your ocean campaign – focus on ocean protection
The focus at boot 2024 will also be on ocean protection and innovative, sustainable technologies. After its successful launch at boot 2023, the blue innovation dock (bid/Hall 10) will further establish itself as a sustainability forum. In cooperation with the European Boating Industry (EBI), a unique dialog format with political, economic, technological and media expertise will be created here. Petros Michelidakis explained: “The blue innovation dock was created by boot and is a genuine innovation driver. At boot 2023 we were already able to see the ideas and technologies for water sports but also for the operation of marinas and moorings on the bid stage. We are now in the concrete planning stage of the program and I am not overpromising when I say we will be introduced to a host of new developments, also in alternative propulsion or for sustainable boatbuilding in 2024.” In addition, with the presentation of the renowned “ocean tribute” award and the “love your ocean” campaign – jointly organized with the German Ocean Foundation – boot 2024 will highlight marine conservation efforts.

Many premieres
Over the nine trade fair days, many premieres, innovative accessories and new water sports gear will be introduced. “Many exhibitors choose boot as the venue for launching their innovations for the coming season in order to create as large a buzz in the sector as possible. We can look forward to many trail-blazing developments both in boat building and in propulsion. In addition, we will also leverage the synergies resulting from Messe Düsseldorf’s wider portfolio,” explained Petros Michelidakis.

A tour of the 16 exhibition Halls
Halls 1 to 4 are reserved for small to medium-sized powerboats, fishing boats and e-boats (up to 20 meters). Hall 3 will also host the Sportfishing Center. Superboat Hall 5 will be the venue of the market leaders of luxury tenders and shadow boats. In Hall 6, the luxury yachts segment will be presented in a concentrated format that is unique worldwide. Hall 7a will be home to super yacht manufacturers with their information stands since their yachts are too big for the exhibition halls. In Halls 9 and 10, the latest technological developments for boating and marine propulsion of all sizes and classes as well as small and large ribs will be on display. Hall 11 will house all the useful accessories boaters need on board. With the ‘love your ocean’ stand and the partnering NGOs, ocean protection will also move back to Hall 11 as will the Water Pixel World at the request from many boot fans.

In addition, the diving ranges will start in Hall 11 and continue in Hall 12 and the northern part of Hall 13. There, and at the adjacent Destination Seaside, diving and action regions from all over the world invite visitors to dream. Another highlight in Hall 13 will be the presentation of houseboats and international charter operators. In addition, there will be services and advice on all aspects of investing in yachts and yacht ownership programs. Hall 14 with the World of Paddling will be the meeting place for canoe and kayak enthusiasts. The attractive combination of the vacation forms caravanning and water sports will also be shown here. Halls 15 and 16 will serve as the sailing center at boot 2024, with the Multihall-Village and well-known international manufacturers showcasing a broad range – from dinghies to large yachts. “The boot sailing halls will again be a true reflection of the market and we will also be able to welcome back the manufacturers who suspended participation this year. We can look forward to yachts up to 70 feet,” said Arne von Heimendahl, responsible for the motorboats and sailing yachts segment in the boot team. The spectacular trend sport in Hall 17 concludes the tour of the 16 exhibition halls at boot Düsseldorf 2024.
