Eight bells – Russell Christensen, Almenara en al Rio Marina and Campground, Spanish Ontario

We learned through Boating Ontario, that Russell Christensen, Owner/Operator of Almenara en al Rio Marina and Campground, Spanish Ontario and long-time property owner, New Denmark NB, passed away suddenly at Grand Falls NB hospital due to a heart attack on Monday 20 March 2023 at the age of 63.

Russell Christensen was the beloved spouse of the late Jean Kirkland for 38 years. Loving step-father to Scott Kirkland (Sherri) of Edmonton, Alberta, Kimberley Kirkland (Rick Foster) of Roslin, Ontario and Marnie Kirkland (Jay Newton) of Manitoulin Island, Ontario. Dearest friend of Carol St. Peter of Plaster Rock, NB.

He is also survived by brothers Stephen (Dawn) of Ottawa and Stanley (Cheryl) of Lac Ste Marie, Quebec and sisters Laurie (Fritz de Munnik and Vincent Morgan, predeceased) of Warminster, Ontario and Rachel (Denis LaCroix) of New Denmark, NB.

He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Wanda Christensen of New Denmark, NB.

He is lovingly remembered by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Following cremation, a celebration of life will be announced in the coming weeks.

Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
