JOHN GIGLIO TO RETIRE FROM FREEDOM BOAT CLUB

Freedom Boat Club

Mar 16, 2021

Freedom Boat Club announced that John Giglio has retired from the company effective March 5th.  Giglio joined Freedom Boat Club in 2004 as operations manager for its corporate-operated stores.  He went on to hold several additional positions in the business, including sales manager and director of sales and operations before purchasing the business in 2011 and becoming CEO in 2012.  Giglio successfully grew the business over a number of years before selling it to Brunswick in 2019. Following the acquisition of Freedom by Brunswick, Giglio continued leading the Club and supported a successful integration of the business, after which he moved into an advisory role as Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives and Cecil Cohn was named President, Freedom Boat Club Network.

“I am excited for a new chapter in my life and will now have the opportunity to spend more time with my family,” said Giglio. “With the business in good hands, the time is right to make this move, and I am thankful for the countless relationships developed at Freedom throughout the years.  I look forward to watching the club’s continued growth.”

“John has been an invaluable partner over the past two years, playing a big role in the success of Freedom Boat Club,” said Cohn. “During John’s tenure as CEO prior to acquisition, the club experienced significant growth in its membership and the signing of many of Freedom’s most successful franchise partners.  His leadership and dedication to the members, franchisees, and employees is one of the major reasons why Freedom Boat Club has enjoyed tremendous success under his tenure.  Over the past year and a half, we have grown from 170 to 256 locations and our future has never been brighter.  We thank John for his leadership, commitment, and dedication to making Freedom Boat Club the largest and most successful boat club in the world.”
