New device uses simple push switch to control lights

Shadow-Caster Light Control Switch

Feb 6, 2024

With the new Single Zone Lighting Control from Shadow-Caster, gaining complete control over a wide range of interior, exterior and underwater RGBW marine lighting fixtures becomes simple. The plug-and-play device uses a standard push button switch to cycle through an LED light’s color array and adjust their brightness. The innovative controller debuts at the Miami International Boat Show, February 14-18, booth MB3715.

Made in the USA, the Shadow-Caster SCM-SZ-RGB Single Zone Lighting Control uses a Shadow-Caster Three-Position On/Off/Momentary Marine LED Lighting Switch or a standard single momentary push switch. Intuitive to use, LED color is changed by clicking the switch button and pressing and holding for brightness. A backlit logo on the housing reflects the setting for easy confirmation. It flashes red if a fault is detected.

Integrated Shadow-NET® allows colors to be synchronized and brightness and fade changed with other networked lighting fixtures. This makes the Single Zone Lighting Control ideal for matching zones of lights for a unified appearance. Plus, it has white channel Auto Detect.

While compact and easily hidden, the Single Zone Lighting Control housing and 12-pin connector are IP67-rated for use in exposed areas. It runs on 12V or 24V DC, and supports 10 amps of load. Measuring only 3.5″ W x 2.9″ L x 1.2″ D, it installs with two included #8 screws. The SCM-SZ-RGB Single Zone Lighting Control from Shadow-Caster costs $169 USD and comes with a three-year warranty.
