Simrad Marine Electronics Debuts New NSO® 4

February 24, 2026

As Simrad Marine Electronics marks its 80th anniversary, the brand celebrates eight decades of innovation with the launch of NSO® 4 – the next chapter in marine navigation. Built on the revolutionary NEON™ operating system (OS) and designed to be the world’s most intuitive chartplotter, NSO 4 is the latest premium chartplotter and fishfinder in the Simrad® portfolio, delivering an unmatched combination of effortless control, lightning-fast performance, and sleek design, setting a new standard for offshore navigation.

“For 80 years, Simrad has never settled – always pushing boundaries to deliver the most advanced marine electronics,” said Yasser Nafei, President, Electronic Solutions for Navico Group. “With NSO 4, we’re ushering in a new era of ultra-premium multifunction displays. This launch marks a generational leap forward, powered by our all-new NEON operating system – the most intuitive OS we’ve ever created. NEON delivers effortless simplicity, exceptional performance, and a sleek design that instantly elevates any helm. Combined with advanced sonar compatibility, stunning C-MAP® charting, and seamless integration across the entire vessel, NSO 4 is the ultimate command center, purpose-built for offshore adventures.”

Available in 16, 22 and 24-inch displays, NSO 4 brings the brand’s most advanced operating system to its largest format ever. Powered by a Qualcomm® 8-core processor, users experience instant responsiveness, 35% faster boot times, 10 times quicker auto-routing for seamless navigation, and eight times more storage. The refined design features gently curved edges and a glass-to-edge finish, creating a premium look that elevates any helm. Users have extensive customization options, including a new “swipe‑to‑reveal” activity bar, and benefit from instant familiarity and simplified controls, making NEON OS the most intuitive interface the brand has ever delivered.

NSO 4 is more than a display, it’s the ultimate control center for a vessel, integrating effortlessly with the full Simrad® suite, including radar, sonar, and engine systems. Anglers can build a complete fishing powerhouse with support for multiple sonar modules, HALO® radars featuring Bird+ mode, and FishCast® powered by ROFFS® forecasts. While cruisers can simplify their navigation experience with auto-routing, chart safety alerts and the latest AutoTrack™ Radar target tracking feature, as well as control lighting, audio, and more, all from a single screen.

Designed for those who demand the best, NSO 4 pairs perfectly with C-MAP® DISCOVER® X and REVEAL® X charts, delivering vivid, clutter-free views and lag-free performance. The X-Chart Manager enables direct chart updates via internet connection and custom area selection for those exploring new waters. Additionally, users can upgrade charts or download and purchase for new areas. Plus, NSO 4 supports multiple charts simultaneously, including third-party options like CMOR Mapping, StrikeLines and Standard Mapping, for the ultimate navigation experience.

The NSO 4 range starts at $6,499 USD and was displayed at the Miami International Boat Show.
