SPECIAL INVITATION FROM CARL CRAMER FOR BOAT DESIGNERS

Sparks

Oct 22, 2019

This email was sent to me and I share this with our Canadian readers and boat designers. Carl’s letter is below:

Dear Friend,

I’m Carl Cramer. I was the publisher of Professional BoatBuilder and WoodenBoat magazines for 25 years. For me, one of the most exciting aspects of that job was talking to boat and yacht designers about their ideas.

For the past eight or nine years, I’ve been helping to produce or helping to manage live PechaKucha events.  Here’s one fine example, from our PechaKucha in Tampa in 2018. As you can tell, our topic was Boat Design Concepts.

The one drawback of PechaKucha events is that speakers and attendees are there because they were coming to other events. That’s what we are starting Sparks! Right Now — Boat Design Concepts. These presentations will be made by anyone in the world, and can be watched by anyone in the world.

At this point, I would like anyone to wishes to be a speaker to contact me —carl1cramer@gmail.com. As with PechaKucha, you will show (by PowerPoint) 20 slides at 20 seconds per slide. You will then voice-over your presentation, all while be video-taped. It is very easy, and I will show you how to do it.

If you are interested, please send me a brief outline of your topic. I will get right back to you. Once we have three or more completed presentations, we will make them “live.” You can do this from the comfort of your office or home.

For those of you who simply wish to watch the presentations, I will send links to them when they’re live. You will be able to watch them at your convenience.

Thank you so much for your consideration, and I hope you will be interested and able to join us.

My best wishes to you, Carl

P.S. This is NOT for vendors, I’m afraid. But we’re always looking for sponsors…
