Bracket Mount CompassSome owners forego installing a compass on board due to lack of space or thinking their boat is too small—a decision often regretted when fog rolls in or dusk comes earlier than expected. The Helmsman HB-740 from Ritchie Navigation is the ideal solution. Its bracket mount fits virtually anywhere, making it perfect for everything from a second steering station on a 70' sportfisher to the angled dash of a 17' runabout.

The Ritchie Helmsman HB-740 is available with a 3-3/4" CombiDamp or Open dial, floating on a scientifically-matched sapphire jewel and hardened steel pivot movement. Built-in compensators provide easy adjustment for deviation and powerful DirectiveForce magnets deliver fast heading lock-on, even in rough seas.

For easy reference, the polished dome of the Ritchie Helmsman HB-740 has 45° lubber lines. Exclusive built-in 12V green NiteVu illumination provides visual clarity at night; an optional red light is simple to install. In daylight, a moveable sun shield protects against glare.

The durable metal bracket of the Ritchie Helmsman HB-740 installs with two screws. Thumbscrews on either side allow the compass to pivot for non-level surfaces and enable complete removal if needed for security.

Ritchie Navigation's Helmsman HB-740 is 100% repairable and comes with a five-year warranty. It has an MSRP of $227.06 USD.

NAUTISME QUEBEC CANCELS THE 2021 MONTREAL BOAT SHOW

Nautisme QuebecSince mid-march, the Alliance de l’industrie nautique du Québec - Nautisme Québec has been devoting time and energy in order to present its main annual event, the Montreal Boat Show. However, with the organizational deadlines that such an event requires, the progress of COVID-19 in the last few weeks and the uncertainty of its outcome in the next winter period, Nautisme Québec finds that it is wiser to cancel the Montreal Boat Show, which was scheduled from February 4 to the 7, 2021.

“Many scenarios were on the table to make it happen and the recent success of the Montreal In-the-Water Boat Show was even more reason to be hopeful”, says Walter Timmerman, chair of the Alliance de l’industrie nautique du Québec...
