IBBI Announces Supplier Award Winners

IBBI (Independent Boat Builders Incorporated) honored eight suppliers at their recent purchasing meeting.  The award winners were chosen on the basis of a survey IBBI members completed that rated suppliers in six key categories: product quality, customer service, delivery, technical service, accurate invoicing, and warranty administration.

Raymarine was recognized as the New Supplier of the Year.  IBBI Controller Jodi Sanders reports, “The team at Raymarine has worked very hard getting our program rolling since we signed the exclusive supply contract in early 2011.  When we saw just how high our members ranked them as a supplier, we knew we had to applaud their efforts. We look forward to a long partnership between IBBI, our members, and Raymarine.”

“We are extremely proud to be selected as IBBI’s New Supplier of the Year, “said Raymarine Vice President of Sales Larry Rencken.  “Raymarine is committed to supplying boat builders with the exciting, innovative products that their customers will demand, and we’ll continue working hard to exceed the expectations of all of the IBBI partner boat builders.”

Composites One was awarded the overall Supplier of the Year distinction.  Inland Plywood and Piedmont Plastics were also given Supplier of the Year honors.   "These suppliers truly go above and beyond in their service to the IBBI members,” says IBBI President Tom Broy.  “These suppliers have shown great support to the IBBI members and the IBBI mission.  It is only appropriate that they have been recognized for their efforts and awarded our Supplier of the Year distinction. Every year we complete this survey, it gets more difficult to analyze the results since all of our suppliers are extremely dedicated to the IBBI members.”

IBBI also handed out Outstanding Partner Awards to companies that narrowly missed out on the top awards – C.H. Robinson, Vectorply, Fin-Addict Marine, and Syrgis.

The IBBI member boat builders also participated in an exclusive trade show that gives its members the opportunity to spend time with IBBI key suppliers and see what's new for the upcoming model year.

IBBI was formed in 1989 by a group of independent, recreational boat builders.  Today, IBBI is the largest marine purchasing cooperative, with 22 members.
