LET YOUR FISH FLAG FLY DURING NATIONAL FISHING WEEK
There are plenty of fish in the sea (and lakes), and this National Fishing Week, Discover Boating Canada invites you to reel them in.
Taking place from Saturday, July 4 to Sunday, July 12, National Fishing Week is dedicated to celebrating a Canadian pastime while educating the public on fishing and boating.
“National Fishing Week is an opportunity for Canadians to discover the fun of fishing on a boat,” comments Tracey Hart, Director of Marketing, Discover Boating Canada. “Discover Boating Canada offers a variety of resources for Canadians to learn about saltwater and freshwater fishing while cruising the waterways across the country.”
Enjoyed nationally, fishing is a popular sport among boat owners. In a Canadian Statistical Abstract released by the National Marine Manufacturers Association in 2014, 59.9 percent of boat owners went fishing from a boat in 2013. Boat rentals are also an option for first-time anglers to get on the water.
“Renting a boat is a great way to get your fishing feet wet this season,” adds Hart. “Discover Boating Canada provides information on where and how you can rent a boat and also helps you select the best option for you during fishing week and through out the year.”
For fish friendly kids, Discover Boating Canada has once again partnered with National Fishing Week to distribute the “Fun on the Water” colouring books. Dedicated to getting kids excited about the fishing and boating lifestyle, the book promotes fishing fun with family and friends.
