VICTORIA INTERNATIONAL MARINA WELCOMES STEVE SINCLAIR AS DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS – FIRST YACHT TO BE WELCOMED TO THE NEW MARINA IN MID-AUGUST

Marina management expert Steve Sinclair has been appointed as director of operations for the new Victoria International Marina.

Sinclair will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the marina, including welcoming guests, provisioning and servicing yachts, and working with the concierge team to anticipate owner and guest needs and requests.

“We are incredibly excited to have Steve Sinclair join our team, knowing that his combined knowledge of marina management and the west coast waters of BC will be an amazing asset to the operation of the new Victoria International Marina,” says Craig Norris, CEO of Community Marine Concepts, the company behind the Victoria International Marina. “I’ve known Steve for many years, and it is no surprise to me that every person on our team has had an immediate connection with him.”

Having grown up on the West Coast, Sinclair has been an avid boater since his youth. He has marina management experience in the coastal waters of British Columbia, having previously been general manager of the nearby Oak Bay Marina & Complex. Sinclair has also worked on the northern BC coast in marina operations on Haida Gwaii.

“Since starting in July, I’ve had the opportunity to work with the team as we work toward the completion of the Victoria International Marina and the welcoming of our first yacht in a few weeks’ time,” says Sinclair.

Sinclair is also a former professional Major League Baseball pitcher, having played for the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays during his career. The team has been cautioned to avoid the superlative of, “hitting a home run,” something that no pitcher wants to hear.

The new Victoria International Marina will welcome its first guests to the 28-slip facility this August, with space for yachts between 65 and to 175 feet. For more information, visit www.vimarina.ca.

About a month ago, I traveled to Charlevoix, MI for a special press event to introduce the H9 to a small group of journalists. The water and the weather were a bit cool but the sun was out and Lake Charlevoix was calm and the Four Winns H9 was very impressive. This is a 29-foot 11-inch luxury day boat with a 9- foot 2-inch beam and it features a fabulous expansive flat floor all the way from the bow rider area to the transom and the swim platform.
