ABYC MARINE SYSTEMS CERTIFICATION OFFERED AT GEORGIAN COLLEGE

The American Boat & Yacht Council is offering a Marine Systems Certification at Georgian College on December 18th 2018 from 8:30am – 530pm. The training will take place at the Midland Campus, Recreational Boating Centre of Excellence, 649 Prospect Blvd., Midland, Ontario. The course will be presented by Robert Davidson.
This course is designed for the marine professional with experience working with marine systems design, installation or repair. This course will provide the student with a comprehensive and focused look at the key ABYC Standards. The successful certification candidate should have some familiarity with ABYC Standards and the Topics Covered list below.
The new three-day class format now includes an online learning component designed to provide preliminary coursework prior to the class. The online component for the ABYC Systems Certification class covers chapters one-four of the course book. It also provides an overview of ABYC along with certification requirements and helpful hints to manage your certification.
The online learning component access will be sent by email two weeks prior to the course start date. The new certification requirements are in effect for this course. For more information click here.

• Potable water systems
• Marine sanitation systems
• Tankage
• Hull piping
• Electrical installations
• Compressed gas for cooking and heating
• Air conditioning and refrigeration systems
• Fuel systems (gas and diesel)
• Steering and control systems
• Accessory control systems
• Fire protection systems
• General knowledge and boatyard etiquette. (Addresses specific tool usage and precision measurement)
