THE RIGGING SHOPPE CELEBRATES 50 YEARS!

50 Year Celebration

Apr 1, 2019

Keeping Boaters Safe for 50 Years – The Rigging Shoppe is a family owned and operated marine supply store for power and sail located in Toronto.

This well stocked 1,000 square foot store was opened by Bruce Burgess in 1969. Bruce and his wife Shirley operated the business until 1998 and now spend their time near Kingston, Ontario.

The Rigging Shoppe has occupied several places in Scarborough, but since 1993 the store resides at 44 Midwest Road, just off the west side of Midland Avenue, north of Lawrence Avenue.

In 1989, after many summers of part-time work, their daughter, Carolyn Burgess began working full-time at the shop.

Carolyn continues to offer the same degree of customized service that Bruce Burgess was famous for. She leads a team of staff that understand boats and their associated parts intimately.
