BOATING ONTARIO ASSOCIATION PRESENTS $1,000 BURSARIES TO EACH OF THREE STUDENTS IN THE MARINE ENGINE MECHANIC PROGRAM AT GEORGIAN COLLEGE
Feb 4, 2020
On Friday, January 24th at the Toronto International Boat Show, three students currently enrolled in the Mechanical Techniques – Marine Engine Mechanic program at Georgian College’s Midland Campus stopped by the Boating Ontario Association booth. Boating Ontario CEO Rick Layzell chatted with the students about how they’re progressing in the program and extending an invitation to them to attend the Boating Ontario Regional Meetings in March.
The three aspiring marine technician students applied for the travel & accommodations bursary earlier this fall and were each presented with a $1000 cheque courtesy of the MarineWorx Development Fund. The criteria for the bursary are that the “student travel must exceed 100 KM distance from their home to the Midland campus and must be referred by a Boating Ontario member.” The students had previously received a cheque for $1000 in November to help cover their costs during the semester while focusing on their education.
