Changes to the Marine Safety Fees Regulations (Vessel Registry Fees)

Changes to the Marine Safety Fees Regulations (Vessel Registry Fees) are now published in the Canada Gazette, Part II.

Changes that are now in effect since Monday, April 1

Since Monday, April 1, the amendments to the regulations that came into force will modernize TC’s vessel registry fees by: 

            • increased fees for some services to better reflect the costs of providing services

            • new fees for some services that are currently provided at no cost

            • some of the fees are lowered or removed

            • Clients now need to pay a fee to renew their large vessel registrations

            • Clients now have to update their owner and vessel information every five years

            • Annual fees are now adjusted based on the Consumer Price Index
