Axopar Brought the Complete 38 Range to FLIBS with Two U.S. Premieres

November 3, 2026

The all-new Axopar 38 Sun Top and Axopar 38 Cross Top made their U.S. premieres at the 2026 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Displayed alongside the 38 XC Cross Cabin, all three models will come together on U.S. soil for the first time, highlighting the versatility of Axopar’s latest generation of adventure boats.

Built on one shared platform but designed for distinctly different ways of boating, the Axopar 38 range comprises the fully enclosed XC Cross Cabin, the open and social Sun Top, and the Cross Top positioned between them. All models share the same twin-stepped, sharp-entry hull, modular deck concept and focus on drivability, comfort and functionality, with the level of enclosure creating three distinct experiences on the water.

One platform — three ways to experience the water

The 38 XC Cross Cabin, which made its U.S. premiere at the Palm Beach International Boat Show in March, offers the greatest protection from the elements. Its fully enclosed wheelhouse combines panoramic visibility with wide sliding doors and an optional opening aft window, allowing the cabin to shift between a protected interior and a more open connection to the surrounding deck. Flexible seating, generous storage and a front cabin with sleeping accommodation make the XC equally suited to day boating and longer adventures.

Making its U.S. premiere at FLIBS, the 38 Sun Top takes the same platform in a distinctly more open direction. Designed around openness, flexibility and shared time on the water, its layout connects the helm, cockpit and aft deck into one continuous social space where driving, dining and relaxing can happen together.

At the heart of the Sun Top is a highly configurable cockpit. Individual helm seats can give way to a driver’s sofa with a reversible backrest, while an optional U-sofa transforms into a large sunbed using an electric hi-lo table. Optional bulwark seating expands the social area further, while foldable activity platforms extend the aft deck towards the water for swimming, watersports and easier access onboard. A large opening canvas roof preserves the feeling of open-air boating while providing shade and shelter when needed.

Also making its U.S. premiere is the 38 Cross Top, the third and newest member of the range. Positioned between the XC Cross Cabin and Sun Top, it combines the open cockpit and social character of the Sun Top with increased protection at the helm. Its distinctive forward-tilting wraparound windshield reduces exposure to wind, spray and glare while maintaining excellent visibility, with the cockpit and aft deck remaining open to the surroundings. Optional roll-down canopies provide additional protection when conditions change.

Shared Axopar 38 DNA

Beyond their different levels of enclosure, the three models share the modularity that sits at the heart of the 38 platform. Owners can configure the bow, cockpit, front cabin and aft deck for different uses, with alternatives ranging from social seating and sun lounges to wet bars, an aft cabin and foldable activity platforms. Below deck, the front cabin provides accommodation for two, with options including a kitchen module and an enclosed toilet compartment with shower.

The full Axopar 38 range was on display at FLIBS from October 28 to November 1.

Good Advice that You Can Share – Falling Overboard Recovery Steps

By John Gullick

An accident that occurs with surprising frequency to passengers and crew is falling. The chance of this happening can be greatly reduced if precautions are taken, such as wearing non-skid shoes that lace up and wearing appropriate clothing that does not impede movement. Those on board should make sure they have a sound footing and a good handhold at all times. Here is an old saying to remember: “Sailors were given two hands, one for the ship and one for themselves.”
