2013 NMEA Educational Training Schedule Announced

The National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) is pleased to announce its 2013 Education Training Schedule.

The NMEA strives to promote the technical marine electronics dealer through education, communication, training and certification, strengthen the industry’s reputation in the marketplace through industry standards and recognition of excellence, promote good business management and fair business practices among its members, encourage the industry to hire highly skilled and qualified technical service personnel and educate the boating public through publications and seminars to promote the safe and proper use of marine electronic equipment.

Classes are scheduled in the following order: Day 1:MEI; Day 2:NMEA 2000 and Day 3:AMEI and run from 8am until 5pm unless otherwise stated.  The full 2013 training schedule can be viewed here

Duncan Peacock, resident of Kitimat BC and member of Kitimat Marine Search and Rescue and RCMSAR Unit 63, has been awarded the 12th annual Tim Jones Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Outdoor Community in British Columbia.

Peacock has been a member of Kitimat Marine Search and Rescue and RCMSAR Unit 63 for 31 years, making him one of the longest-serving members in the province.
