3D Printing will be featured at The International BoatBuilders' Exhibition and Conference (IBEX), taking place September 29-October 2, 2014 at the Tampa Convention Center. IBEX will partner with Robert McNeel & Associates, Miami's RhinoFabStudio, and DRS Technologies, Inc. Advanced Marine Technology Center, to offer live demonstrations and educational workshops for attendees on 3D printing and scanning technologies applicable to the marine industry.

CARLA DEMARIA KEYNOTE SPEAKER AT METS 2014
Amsterdam RAI has announced that the keynote speaker at the prestigious Breakfast Briefing at METS 2014 will be Carla Demaria, President of Monte Carlo Yachts. As the first woman to make this major address to the global maritime community – a popular feature on the calendar for 27 years – Demaria will share her unique insights gained in a distinguished career in the boatbuilding sector. The Breakfast Briefing and the opening ceremony of METS 2014 that follows are on Tuesday 18 November in Amsterdam RAI. -
VOLUNTARY RECALL AFFECTS HANDLEBAR AND STEERING ASSEMBLY
BRP has issued a voluntary recall of its new Spark personal watercraft. In a note to Sea-Doo watercraft owners dated July 15, the Valcourt, Quebec-based company notes it is conducting a voluntary safety recall of “some 2014 Sea-Doo watercraft models” in order to correct a defect in the steering column and handlebar assembly.

CANADA’S NEW BOATING SKILLS SERIES LAUNCHES TUESDAY JULY 15
Discover Boating Hands-On Skills Training, a series created to provide boaters of all experience levels practical education to boat safely and confidently on the water, is launching in Canada for the first time this year at the Montreal In-Water Boat Show, Toronto International Boat Show and Vancouver International Boat Show. TUG CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AWARDED TO BRACEWELL MARINE GROUP
Ledcor's Marine Division has announced that it has awarded the construction of two A.G. McIlwain-designed tugs to Bracewell Marine Group Ltd. The two tugs will be built concurrently at the Bracewell shipyard facility at Shelter Island Marina located on the South Arm of the Fraser River in Richmond, B.C., and will be delivered in an 11 month time frame. -

Route Halifax St.Pierre Race Keeps an Eye on Hurricane Arthur’s Potential
A fleet of ocean racing sail boats will leave Halifax harbour on Tues., July 8th, 2014. The fleet for “Route Halifax Saint-Pierre 2014” will start in Halifax harbour at noon and then race on a 353-mile course to the French islands of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon. This is the seventh edition of this challenging international event that connects American, Canadian and French sailors. Racing takes the boats on the waters of the Atlantic Ocean along Nova Scotia, through the Cabot Strait and on to Saint-Pierre et Miquelon. This is an ISAF Category 2 race. -
MOSQUITO CREEK 8TH ANNUAL BOAT SHOW SEPTEMBER 18-21, 2014
We have a great deal to celebrate this year: it's the 51st Year Anniversary of Mosquito Creek Marina, owned and operated by the Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumix (Squamish Nation), and last year we became Western Canada's largest floating boat show! Our 2014 show had 165 boats displayed along 2,500 feet of dock space, 70 display booths, plus broker hospitality tents and demonstration slips for sea trials.
