CELEBRATE 40 YEARS OF OUTDOOR FUN WITH THE OTTAWA BOAT & SPORTSMEN’S SHOW

The Ottawa Boat and Sportsmen’s Show has been an Ottawa tradition for the past four decades and this year, the show will be celebrating this milestone in true outdoor fashion! Opening February 19 and running to the 22nd, the Ottawa Boat and Sportsmen’s Show will turn the EY Centre (formerly the Ernst Young Centre) into a boating and outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. Exciting features include Husqvarna’s axe throwing with the West Coast Lumberjacks, Birds of Prey and fishing tips with some of Canada’s best pro fishermen. Showgoers can also reminisce about good ‘ole times’ with a walk down memory lane, featuring vintage boats and photos captured over the Show’s 40 year history.

NEW ASIAN CARP CANADA WEBSITE MAKES A SPLASH

The Invasive Species Centre has partnered with Fisheries and Oceans Canada to launch a comprehensive Canadian website on Asian carps. Asian Carp Canada (www.asiancarp.ca) will provide information on all aspects of Asian carps, including the most recent prevention, warning, response and research efforts to address the overall ecological and socio-economic threats of Asian carps to the Great Lakes and beyond.

NMEA 2000 GOES ‘LIVE’ AT THE TORONTO BOAT SHOW

Visitors to the Toronto International Boat Show will get a close-up look at a “live” demonstration that shows how the onboard networking standard NMEA 2000® operates.
