Sound for the aft decks

GmBH Aft Deck Loudspeaker

July 20, 2021

Bremen-based multiplex GmbH now also offers a loudspeaker system to provide aft decks with the right sound.

Making yachting features simpler, lighter and more comfortable has always been multiplex’s philosophy. Founded in 1986, the creative think tank has quickly but surely become a world leader in boarding systems, offering top-of-the-line carbon-based products – gangways, ladders, railings, docking systems and also awnings.

There is now a decibel-strong addition for the sun sail systems: multiplex can incorporate brackets for outdoor speakers into the carbon poles. This makes the sun awning system, which can also be supplied with lighting, a real multi-talent. Jan Reiners, CEO of multiplex, says: “Our team is constantly working on optimizing our products even further and making them more attractive for owners and crews.”

For the speaker system, multiplex is working exclusively with the manufacturer Sonance, which has very reliable and powerful products for outdoor use in its portfolio with the Mariner series.

All Mariner speaker models are available in black or white; the included mounting bracket allows for easy attachment and alignment. The speakers are then conveniently connected at the front under the cover. The various Sonance Mariner models have power handling capacities between 60 and 125 watts, can withstand temperatures between 65 and minus 25 degrees Celsius, and are also resistant to moisture and UV light thanks to their IP66 weather protection rating.

Since the aft decks of large yachts are the preferred places of many owners and guests – where they dine, relax and celebrate in the evening – the installation of loudspeakers on the high-quality carbon supports from multiplex is a natural choice. For a powerful sound, they hang at exactly the right height and at an ideal distance from each other.

The first sun awning systems including speakers are already being delivered and will soon be used on several yachts.
