Starport Marina Expands with New Locations

Effective March 1, Starport Marina has expanded their portfolio and acquired two new marinas. The first Marina, formerly Severn Boat Haven, is located on the Trent Severn Waterway [Lock 45], has been in business for 42 years and houses 100 slips ranging in size from 15 feet to 45 feet.

The second Marina acquired is Jim Earle Marina located at the bottom of Lock 45. This Marina has grown into the premier sport dealer in Canada and has an extensive service department consisting of four bays, a fully stocked parts department, launch ramp and rack storage for 300 boats. Both of these marinas will proudly open their doors on the May long weekend renamed as Starport Severn.

During the transition, over the next several months, Starport Severn will undergo several aesthetic upgrades including renovations to the clubhouse, existing fascia, new landscaping, improved washrooms and the construction of a dedicated barbecue area. There are also plans to add a swimming pool as well as other five star resort amenities.

In addition to the many upgrades at Starport Severn, we will introduce a new service called the Lock Bypass Program. This program has been designed to save Starport members valuable time. Instead of waiting upwards of 4 to 5 hours to go through the locks, you can arrange to have your boat transported either by land or water from one side of Lock 45 to the other.

Starport Marina members will soon receive a full membership benefits chart outlining their privileges at Starport locations. For more information, contact Mark Lariviere, General Manager, Starport Marine Inc., 705-325-3775 extension 238 or visit www.starportmarina.com.
