MERCURY MARINE CASTS 2.5 MILLIONTH PROPELLER

Merc Inertia

Mercury Marine this week celebrates the casting of its 2,500,000th stainless steel propeller in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Simultaneously, Mercury is celebrating its famed investment cast facility’s 40th year of producing the finest boat propellers in the world. The plant opened in 1974.

Mercury propellers are recognized globally for best-in-class speed, acceleration and fuel economy. The most recent propeller innovation produced by Mercury is the extremely successful and popular Enertia ECO prop, which delivers 10 percent improved fuel economy at cruising speed, while still maintaining exceptional performance and durability.

“This is a remarkable and important milestone in Mercury’s history,” said John Pfeiffer, president of Mercury Marine.

“We lead the propeller industry because we have the best people, the best designs and the best materials. We’re very proud of the products that come from Mercury’s investment cast facility.”

Mercury’s props are designed by a team of engineers with more than 160 years of combined propeller design experience – experience that enables Mercury to design propellers that are years ahead of competitors’ products.

“Using the correct and best-designed propeller to deliver ultimate performance is one of the most important factors a boater can consider, yet it’s also one of the least expensive actions they need to take,” said Dirk Bjornstad, category director of Mercury Propellers. “Every boat application requires a specific type and size of prop if it’s going to perform at its highest level. At Mercury we strive to help every boater get the most from their engine and boat. Time on the water is valuable, and our props provide the best possible on-water experience.”

Mercury’s stainless steel propellers are designed for outboard engines ranging from 9.9 to 300 horsepower, and all sterndrive engines.
