The World Maritime Technology Conference (WMTC) 2015 November 3-7, Rhode Island Convention Center, Providence
Advance tickets are available for purchase for 10 events designed to complement the primary conference schedule and enhance the overall experience of attendees to the World Maritime Technology Conference (WMTC 2015), November 3-7 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, Rhode Island.
SNAME’s annual meeting and expo, the SNAME Maritime Convention (SMC), will be held in conjunction with the triennial WMTC.

Wannamoisett is home to one of the finest golf courses in the United States. The Donald Ross masterpiece has been ranked as one of the Top 50 courses in the nation by Golf Magazine, GolfWeek and Golf Digest. All proceeds from the golf tournament support the SNAME Scholarship Fund.
SNAME 2015 Regatta
7th Annual SNAME Cup Sailing Regatta
Saturday, November 7 – Sail Newport
Individual entry: $250/ Boat Team Sponsor: $1,800/ Student: $100
Reception only: $85
The races will be sailed in J22s and with a target of up to 5 races. Transportation to and from the Omni Providence Hotel will be provided, along with breakfast, lunch and a post-regatta reception at the Herreshoff Museum. Sail Newport, Inc., founded in 1983, is a non-profit 501 (C) (3) organization. Sail Newport is home to New England’s largest public sailing center and is considered Rhode Island’s premier public sailing site. All proceeds from the regatta support the SNAME Scholarship Fund.
Museum Tours – Saturday, November 7
Option 1: Steamship Historical Society of America
SSHSA offers a free tour of their new facility to WMTC attendees. This event includes refreshments and a complimentary copy of the Society’s publication, PowerShips, for each attendee.
Option 2: Herreshoff Marine Museum/ America’s Cup of Hall of Fame and Experience Rhode Island
The first half of the tour is a stop in Bristol, where the Herreshoff Marine Museum/ America’s Cup Hall of Fame is located. The museum is dedicated to the education and inspiration of the public through presentations of the history and innovative work of the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company and the America’s Cup competition. Following the museum, have lunch and shop in Newport. Attendees then enjoy the full “Newport: Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous” tour. On this tour, learn the stories of those who lived in the famous mansions on Bellevue Avenue, stop for pictures on Ocean Drive, see the homes of Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy, have time to stroll down quaint cobblestone streets, visit the beautiful grounds of the third-oldest lighthouse in America, and much more. Cost is $75 and includes tickets to the Newport Mansions, the Herreshoff Marine Museum and transportation.
