AIRSTREAM GROUP INTRODUCES MARINE APPLICATION SECURITY SOLUTIONS TO CANADA

IdentaDNA Gold Capsule

Aug 14, 2016

Theft in the boatyard is an unfortunate fact of boating life. To address the prevention of theft and the potential identification and recovery of stolen property the Airtream Group, an experienced vendor of technological products in the leisure industry introduces two high tech identification products enabling boaters to unequivocally identify everything from a winch handle to an outboard or trailer.

IDENTIFICATION:  Two liquids: Smartwater and Identa DNA have been successfully used in Europe and the US to positively but invisibly mark equipment using embedded ID chemistry and, in the case of IdentaDNA, the personal DNA of the owner for absolute identification. Both liquids will be available to owners and users via a select group of marine manufacturers and retail outlets in various formats.

Smartwater is produced by a British Company designed to mark products  primarily for commercial applications.

IdentaDNA is patented in Canada and USA and will be manufactured in Ontario and will be available fall of 2016. It is designed primarily for personal applications to mark all high value assets including marine products.

The PREVENTION aspect is completed once the application to the boat, dinghy, outboard and other items is complete.  A potential thief cannot locate the marking, so cannot remove it, as is often the case with labels or even engraved markings. Once a warning is posted on the boat, the potential thief knows the goods can be definitively traced – this proof has been effective in convictions in the UK, and is recognized by polices services.

Available in eastern Canada this month, Airstream will be introducing Smartwater initially followed by Identa DNA in kits designed for marine use.
