Think industrial cranes aren’t major sources of workplace accidents? Think again.

According to a report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, over 818 crane accidents between 1997-2006 resulted in fatalities.

Perhaps the most crippling statistic in the report is the leading cause of death related to crane operations: A whopping 62 percent of the accidents were caused by objects falling from cranes, hitting workers or bystanders on the ground.

These stats shouldn’t stop your business from using cranes on construction sites and large-scale projects. To prevent crane-related accidents in your workplace, you need robust safety mechanisms that actively warn people about nearby, ongoing crane operations.
