MASSIVE MARINE GARAGE SALE SET FOR SATURDAY, APRIL 22 AT OGDEN POINT

Garage Sale

Apr 17, 2017

The 14th Annual Massive Marine Garage Sale is scheduled for Saturday, April 22nd at Ogden Point (Pier A) from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is a major fundraising event for the Maritime Museum of British Columbia that helps support the Museum’s development of exhibits and delivery of education and public programs.

While the primary goal of the event is to raise money for the Maritime Museum it has become something of a staple in the boater’s world attracting a high number of bargain hunters and boating enthusiasts. The event provides a unique opportunity to recycle and reuse marine related items. Many different types of marine items will be available for sale.

The Victoria Model Shipbuilding Society is also planning on attending the Massive Marine Garage Sale this year. The model shipbuilders are setting up an outdoor pond where they will be demonstrating their remote controlled model boats.

Executive Director, David Leverton stated that, “this is a great opportunity for local residents to support the ongoing work of the Maritime Museum of BC and our volunteers are looking forward to hosting another very successful community event.”

Parking is free and there will be many indoor and outdoor vendors at the garage sale selling a wide range of marine related equipment. The admission price is $5.00 and children under 12 are admitted for free.
The annual Massive Marine Garage sale could not happen without the generous support of the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority, Western Stevedoring, CFB Esquimalt and Trotac Marine.

The Maritime Museum has also recently opened their new All Things Marine Thrift Store at Canoe Cove Marina and area residents are invited to visit the new location and drop off any used marine equipment and browse through the wide selection of marine related items. All sales from the new store help the Maritime Museum preserve our maritime heritage.

The association is very well supported and virtually any significant marine electronics company that you could name, was represented there on the Exhibitor list at the Expo as well as all being NMEA members and very supportive of the organization.
