EVINRUDE SPONSORS CHAIN OF RECORDS 2017

Evinrude Chain

June 5, 2017

BRP, a world leader in powersports, announced that Evinrude sponsored the Chain of Records 2017 event held April 18-23, on multiple lakes in Polk County, Florida. Organized with over a year of planning to break national and world records in water skiing, the event resulted in more than 36 records being broken, including the Most Records Broken at a Single Event. All records are pending until certified by the NSSA (National Show Ski Association) and Guinness World Records.

“There are few locations that meet the requirements of size, water depth and conditions for these large records and few groups have access to the resources needed,” said Eric Gran, acts & records captain, Chain of Records. “One of the most important factors is boat power. Depending on the record, triple 300s or larger are really needed and I only know of three of those boats in existence.”

“From everyone involved there were lots of comments about the differences in pulls between the two triple rigs with the Evinrude E-TEC G2s receiving glowing praise,” said Jason Hook, tow-boat captain, Chain of Records. “All in all, it was a very positive showing for the triple 300 E-TEC G2s.”

“To attempt record tows of this magnitude requires a great deal of pulling power,” said Olivier Pierini, Evinrude director of global marketing and strategic planning. “We are very excited that our Evinrude E-TEC G2 engines not only deliver for the average boater, but excel in these extreme situations. Offering up to 30% more torque than leading comparable four-stroke outboard engines as well as up to 15% better fuel efficiency and up to 75% fewer total regulated emissions, the Evinrude E-TEC G2 engines truly offer record-breaking performance.”

The complete list of records pending certification can be found at www.chainofrecords.com.
