Marina conference message to include the positive side of reinvention

A licensed clinical psychologist and author of five books, Dr. Lapp, founder of ChangeFit™ Leadership Boot Camps/ChangeFit™ Labs and creator and host of the Emmy-nominated CBS series ‘Keep Well,’ will deliver the keynote address at the International Marina & Boatyard Conference (IMBC), scheduled for January 31-February 2, 2018, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Lapp’s presentation, “Lead the Way: Bold Leadership Through Transformation,” will be held Thursday, February 1, at 8:30 a.m. IMBC is produced by the Association of Marina Industries (AMI).

Dr. Lapp has been described by IBM Canada as “Refreshing, humorous, serious, thought-provoking, appropriately intense, one of the best, if not the best, we have seen in our whole IBM careers.” She is a former professor, researcher, clinician and registered nurse. Born and raised in Québec, Canada, Dr. Lapp earned her Ph.D. from McGill University in Montreal. She has inspired over 2,000 audiences around the world from Russia to Argentina to Hong Kong – with clients such as IBM, RAND Corporation, AT&T, Allstate, New York Life, Toyota and Kawasaki – to adopt a ChangeFit™ leadership mindset to lead through disruptive change. She is a dual citizen of Canada and the United States, presents in three languages, and consults throughout Europe and the Americas.
“We are all creatures of habit; that’s just human nature,” says AMI Chair Brad Gross, CMM. “Dr. Lapp will challenge the way we think and share strategies for gaining the courage to make critical changes and embracing those changes. Dr. Lapp has the ability to translate complex theory into everyday actions and she has a comedian’s knack for getting those ideas across in an engaging way. We are very pleased that she will be an important part of our conference this year.”

Following-up her keynote address, Dr. Lapp will present a breakout session, Flourish withChange, where she will challenge attendees to “be bold and courageous.” This is a results-focused session, holding those in attendance accountable for driving positive change within their own organizations.
