XANTREX ADDS COMPACT, LIGHTWEIGHT INVERTERS WITH ADVANCED COMMUNICATIONS

The popular FREEDOM XC inverter/chargers now have siblings with more advanced features. The new series called the FREEDOM XC PRO packs a host of additional features including 50A transfer relay, bigger charger and advanced communication protocol for integration with third party multi-function panels (MFPs).

The two new PRO models have set a new benchmark in terms of power density and features. The larger of the two models is a 3000-watt inverter with a built-in 150-amp battery charger. Weighing at just 18.5 lbs., this inverter is the lightest and smallest in its class. The 2000-watt PRO model features a 100-amp battery charger. Both models can be easily configured to charge any lithium ion battery. The built-in 50A transfer relay of the 3000-watt model enables vehicles and boats to take full advantage of 50A feed available at increasing numbers of campgrounds, parks and marinas. Both models can surge to two times its rated power for five seconds, another benchmark for inverters in this topology. The inverters can be configured and monitored via FXC control app available on both iOS and android.

Both PRO models maintain other notable features of the FREEDOM XC family, including full output in higher temperatures, dead battery charging, operation control via ignition key and the ability to work off high output modern alternators. Both models are certified to UL458 with marine supplement, meet FCC Class B and tested for multiple environmental stresses including moisture and corrosion resistance, and salt and fog sprays. The products are in stock and available for shipping.

Good Advice that You Can Share – The Art of Anchoring

Unless a boat is secured, it will drift away. If it cannot be attached to something secure, such as a dock, piling, mooring buoy, tree, or boulder, it must be anchored. There is much more to anchoring than simply tossing the anchor over the side.

An anchoring system has two parts: the anchor itself and the rode which connects the anchor to the boat. To be effective, an anchor must have good holding power, and the rode must be strong enough to withstand the strains that are put on it.
