Navigare Yachting

Sept 28, 2021

One of the leading companies in the Yacht Charter industry worldwide is expanding, by opening a base in United States Virgin Islands.

For nearly 20 years Navigare Yachting has become the premier sailing charter operator in the world, with over 300 yachts in 11 destinations worldwide, from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean and South-East Asia. “With this growth progression we now have three Navigare-managed bases in the Caribbean and the Bahamas and it is a natural progression to ensure the best sailing experience for our guests from the Americas” commented Rönngard.

The new USVI Base is located in Benner Bay, St Thomas – just 25 minutes from the airport and about a mile from Red Hook. A great location in a protected bay with easy access to the beautiful islands of the USVI. “We are excited to operate our base in the USVI and looking forward to offering our charter guests and boat owners the best possible USVI experience. As COVID restrictions ease, this location allows our guests to experience the USVI, BVI, and the Spanish Virgin Islands ” Rönngard added.

The USVI base is expected to open on October 15, 2021, with Phillip Winter General Manager of Navigare Yachting USA overseeing the new project.

Winter has been leading the development of Navigare in the Caribbean and the Bahamas for the past two years. “Initially, the base will hold 8 sailing catamarans permanently but will have the ability to operate up to 20 boats.

The docks and facilities will be fully managed by Navigare and as development continues, we are looking forward to making the St Thomas base into a full yacht club experience with a restaurant, bar, and water toy rentals,” explained Winter.

The BVI base is growing strong and with this new USVI Base, Navigare will be able to offer charter guests and owners the full Navigare quality experience in the Virgin Islands.

Navigare Yachting is the world’s fastest-growing charter operator of sailing yachts, with a premium fleet of more than 300 units worldwide.

During the past 20 years, Navigare Yachting established strong partnerships with world-leading brands like Jeanneau, Beneteau, Bavaria, Dufour, Lagoon, Bali, Fountaine Pajot, delivering the charter experience of a lifetime.

Always being one step ahead, they have developed ownership programs, that offset the cost of yacht ownership while providing more opportunities to sail in more than 50 destinations worldwide, with the support of a dedicated concierge team.

Good Advice that You Can Share – The Art of Anchoring

Unless a boat is secured, it will drift away. If it cannot be attached to something secure, such as a dock, piling, mooring buoy, tree, or boulder, it must be anchored. There is much more to anchoring than simply tossing the anchor over the side.

An anchoring system has two parts: the anchor itself and the rode which connects the anchor to the boat. To be effective, an anchor must have good holding power, and the rode must be strong enough to withstand the strains that are put on it.
