Lifesaving app by RescueMeSOS now available in the Google Play app store

Rescue Me SOS

June 1, 2023

An innovative lifesaving app created by Canadian company RescueMeSOS is now available on the Google Play app store. This new RescueMeSOS app prevents a bad situation from becoming more dangerous and potentially lethal, by sending a powerful visual distress signal. The app’s creator, entrepreneur Lawrence Rabin, states: “we are in the business of saving as many lives as we can!”

Using just the phone anyone carries in their pocket, the app allows its user to be seen for up to 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) in ideal conditions for up to 10 hours while in high visibility mode, and for up to 12 hours in low power mode. The app has been successfully tested on a variety of Android phones including the Samsung Galaxy S9, Samsung Galaxy S7and Samsung Galaxy A12.

Within the app there is a visibility maximizing HIGH POWER mode, including:

· Large SOS lettering with bright flashing Morse Code background
· SOS Morse Code blinking using the rear flash (up to 4 km visibility)
· A 3150 hz Morse siren, that pierces through ambient noise and carries long distance (off by default, to prevent jarring app launch).

There is also a battery optimizing LOW POWER mode that includes:

· Large SOS lettering flashing Morse Code with jet black background
· Disabled rear flash to safeguard against accidental battery drain

The power mode, rear flashing, and siren are easy to access right on the screen, to prevent fumbling in menus or missed opportunities. The app user simply has to press the appropriate button to enable or disable any feature.

This app was designed for anyone who might be in need of immediate assistance, or who may be in remote areas out of cellular signal. The app helps draw attention to oneself in dangerous situations. As such, it is an ideal solution for:

· Stranded boaters and users of aquatic recreational vehicles
· Roadside vehicle breakdowns
· Adventurers, hunters and outdoor enthusiasts
· Sportspeople like hikers, cyclists, skiers and snowshoers, etc.

The lifesaving app from RescueMeSOS can also be used in unexpected events like building collapse or prolonged service outages of power or cellular service. Another use involves international travel where access to emergency infrastructure may not be possible.

“Saving lives is our primary goal” concludes Lawrence Rabin. “With a simple app on your phone, countless life-threatening situations can be avoided! I would strongly encourage everyone to get this app.”

The RescueMeSOS lifesaving app can be downloaded now from the Google Play app store, for a modest price of $1.69 (CAD).

Good Advice that You Can Share – The Art of Anchoring

Unless a boat is secured, it will drift away. If it cannot be attached to something secure, such as a dock, piling, mooring buoy, tree, or boulder, it must be anchored. There is much more to anchoring than simply tossing the anchor over the side.

An anchoring system has two parts: the anchor itself and the rode which connects the anchor to the boat. To be effective, an anchor must have good holding power, and the rode must be strong enough to withstand the strains that are put on it.
