ICOMIA Boating Industry Conference 2024 Programme confirmed

Mar 26, 2024

ICOMIA and Singapore Boating Industry Association present the ICOMIA Boating Industry Conference 2024 at ONE°15 Marina at Sentosa Cove, Singapore, on 23-24 April 2024.

The programme for the ICOMIA Boating Industry Conference 2024 has now been confirmed with two days of industry-specific talks, presentations and round-table discussions planned to take place at ONE°15 Marina at Sentosa Cove in Singapore on 23-24 April in conjunction with the Singapore Yachting Festival 2024.

Day one opens with a welcome from ICOMIA CEO Joe Lynch and ICOMIA President Darren Vaux, setting the agenda for the days topics around industry decarbonization and sustainability. Darren will then go on to present the conference keynote address on ICOMIA’s landmark research Pathways into Propulsion Decarbonisation in the Recreational Marine Industry.

The first day continues with a number of presentations on sustainability, with Yamaha Motor Corporation closing off the morning session with a presentation on sustainable propulsion systems. The afternoon session will include a presentation on ISO standards in marina management and operations closing with a panel discussion on ocean stewardship and clean boating.

The agenda for day two is geared towards moderated discussions on the business of boating.  The day starts with a discussion on the many benefits of being on the water and how the industry can make it easier for people to get involved through a variety of new and existing concepts such as chartering, boat-rentals and shared ownership schemes.

Following this, the conversation moves towards the economic value of boating and then on to advocacy in Asia and the challenges the industry faces to ensure boating is on the agenda when policies and regulation are being shaped and ultimately decided.

The conference finishes with an industry roundtable on the need for collaborative engagement in Asia, with discussions about the key ideas raised during the conference.

ICOMIA CEO Joe Lynch said “we have worked hard to curate a unique conference programme that will appeal to everyone in our industry. ICOMIA is proud to offer a conference designed to stimulate discussions and actions that will ensure the collective success of everyone involved in boating. Sustainability is a key theme and to be confident in the future we need to be operating safely, environmentally responsibly and successfully as an industry. This conference will deliver against these three themes and we look forward to seeing you there”.
