New compact spreader lights deliver massive light

Compact Spreader Lights

Nov 12, 2024

Having a well-lit deck makes running a boat at night safer, but too much glaring light can reduce night vision. That’s what makes Shadow-Caster’s new NMEA 2000-ready SCM Series of Spreader Lights so ideal. They’ll pump out 3,000 lumens of bright, crisp white light when needed, but can be dimmed through a multifunction display connected to a Shadow-NET control module or via a standard switch.

The SCM Series is offered in Bracket Mount and Flush Mount configurations. Both provide a 60° beam angle of 6200 Kelvin cool white light. Soft-start technology gradually increases brightness to the desired level, activated either by toggling the power source or selecting the lamp through a Shadow-Caster lighting controller, like the award-winning Light Commander. While delivering a massive 3,000 lumens, a single SCM Spreader Light draws only 20W/1.5A with a 10–30V input.

The IP67 rugged waterproof aluminum housing is available in black or white. Inside, the lamp has a unique reflector design that evenly spreads the light beams to avoid annoying glare.

The SCM Flush Mount version measures 5″ x 1.7″ x 1.6″, making it perfect for use in T-tops, radome arches and similar components. The Bracket Mount Spreader Light is 4.25″ x 1.6″ x 2.8″ and has an angle adjustable 316 stainless steel bracket that’s ideal for retrofitting an existing installation. A 3′ submersible power cable makes wiring the lights for power and NMEA 2000 networking simple.
